Pastor Gord and Louise

Pastor Gordon and Louise have had a fairly tale marriage made in Heaven, staring at the moon. On July 20th, 1969, they had their first date, while Neil Armstrong walked in space. It was one small step for God, for both of them.

They got married the following year, on Valentine's Day. Cupid found the mark. Pastor Gordon was trying to keep his romantic record spinning. However, it was a humble wedding, with a single bucket of KFC chicken to feed everyone. Even Jesus had more when feeding 5000.

Yet, like Jesus, Pastor Gordon's ministry started that night when God gave him the miracle of Louise, his pure bride, who would lead him to God in due time. It was like Romeo and Juliet, a virgin rose with a handsome rebel, from the other side of town.

Pastor Gordon had black hair and blue eyes, and a meek charisma that stood him apart. He looked like a rock star. He could have been pegged as one of the Beatles, if they weren't so ugly. John Lennon did not have his eyes.

Louise was a striking brunette with deep brown eyes, and full lips, with model good looks. She wore the trendiest cloths, and had a beautiful figure. They were both young and hip. Only the secular sky was the limit.

Pastor Gordon eventually landed in politics and worked for Liberal MP Bill Rompkey, as his right hand man. Pastor Gordon and Louise were living the Canadian dream, with three small beautiful children, Kim, Jamie, and Justin, and a career path to Parliment.

They had socialized with Pierre Elliott Trudeau and Prince Charles and Lady Diana, at private events. In fact, Princess Diana was very drawn to Pastor Gordon, for his like meekness, and she found comfort talking to him. Yet, this privileged life was short lived. So is the fragility of lilies.

As hell would have it, Pastor Gordon was diagnosed with aggressive bone cancer. The doctor told him these infamous words: "Gordon, you are a very sick young man."

His world came crashing down.

So did Louise. Her destiny was to be widowed, instead of the wife of a premier. Who would pick Justin up at the door, while waiting for dad? No one or worse, another man.

That is when Christ became Lord. Pastor Gordon repented of his sins, and became a born-again Christian. Shortly thereafter, he received prayer from a Pentecostal pastor, and felt heat go down his leg. He is still walking today.

Hand and in hand with Louise. Together in ministry.

They rest, as they say, is history. Soon 50 years married. Happily ever after.

From the moon to the stars.
